The 3 axle skeleton trailer is the most common container transport semi trailer in the market. Equipped with 12 container locks, it carries one 40-foot container or two 20-foot containers at the same time. That flexibility is important for port logistics operators who handle mixed container sizes throughout the day.

The 500mm main beam uses Q345 or T700 steel — T700 is the higher-strength option that cuts frame weight while maintaining the same load capacity. For operators who run at or near legal weight limits, that tare weight reduction translates directly into more payload per trip. The WABCO brake valve and FUWA axles are both widely serviced brands across Africa and the Middle East, so maintenance parts are available in most import markets.
A skeleton design strips away the full-deck floor of a flatbed trailer. Less steel means less tare weight. For dedicated container operations where the deck surface is not needed, this skeleton trailer is the lighter and more cost-effective option compared to a standard flatbed.

We run these skeleton trailers from Apapa port to our storage yard every day. The 3-axle 40FT model handles loaded containers without any frame flex. The T700 beam option is lighter than our Q345 trailers by a noticeable margin, and that weight saving adds up over hundreds of trips.

Good skeleton trailer for standard port work. We haul both 40-foot and paired 20-foot containers with no issues. FUWA axles are reliable and WABCO brakes stop well at full load. The only thing to watch is the twist lock pins — they need greasing regularly in dusty conditions.
