The 3 axle skeleton trailer is the most common container transport semi trailer in the market. Equipped with 12 container locks, it carries one 40-foot container or two 20-foot containers at the same time. The 500mm main beam uses Q345 or T700 steel — T700 is the higher-strength option that cuts frame weight while maintaining the same load capacity. For operators who run at or near legal weight limits, that tare weight reduction translates directly into more payload per trip. The WABCO brake valve and FUWA axles are both widely serviced brands across Africa and the Middle East, so maintenance parts are available in most import markets.
A skeleton design strips away the full-deck floor of a flatbed trailer. Less steel means less tare weight. For dedicated container operations where the deck surface is not needed, this skeleton trailer is the lighter and more cost-effective option compared to a standard flatbed.

We have run this HUAYU 40ft skeleton for about six months between Onne port and our yard. The chassis is strong, the twist locks engage positively every time, and it tows straight with a heavy box on. Nothing has cracked or bent. For port container work in Nigeria, this trailer is a solid recommendation from me.
