The 3 Axle 45 CBM Mining Tipper Semi Trailer is HUAYU's rear-tipping dump trailer built for mine-site duty: a 45 cbm rectangular body, a 100 ton site rating, and 12.00R20 deep-block mining tires on 10-stud steel wheels. Two markings on the yellow unit photographed here say exactly what it is: a round 100 t roundel over the axle group and a ROCKY450 plate on the body side. Under the floor sit three 13-ton FUWA axles on a 10-leaf mechanical stack, and a HYVA front-mount telescopic ram lifts the body to roughly 50 degrees. This is a pit-to-crusher and quarry-to-plant trailer, not a highway line-haul unit.

Specced for the Mine Site, Not the Motorway

Read the decals on the body and you can tell where this trailer is meant to work. The rear wall carries the factory site-speed sticker: 40 km/h loaded, 25 km/h off-road. Those are mine-site limits, the speeds a loaded tipper actually sustains on bench roads and pit ramps. Rear-end hardware follows the same logic. The LED tail clusters sit behind mesh guards because flying rock from the shovel does not respect plastic lenses. White mud flaps and full-length conspicuity tape keep the trailer visible in pit dust at dawn shift change.

Landing gear tells the same story. Each JOST 28T leg ends in a wide sand shoe, so the trailer can stand uncoupled on a soft bench without the feet punching through. None of these details costs much on the production line. All of them cost a lot to retrofit after delivery.

A ROCKY 450 Body for Abrasive Loads

The body side wears a ROCKY450 plate, and it is not decoration: the floor and side walls are pressed from Baosteel ROCKY 450 wear-resistant steel, 8mm on the floor and 6mm on the sides. On abrasive loads — blasted granite, iron ore, river gravel with sharp fines — wear plate holds its thickness where ordinary mild-steel bodies scour thin along the load lines. The rectangular profile with three pressed horizontal ribs keeps the walls flat under heaped loads, and the green top rail is a reinforced section, not a trim strip.

For the full material comparison (ROCKY 450 hardness numbers, how it stacks up against Hardox 450, and when a U-shape body beats a rectangular one), see the 3 axle U-shape rock body page, which covers the wear-plate question in depth.

Tipping Geometry: 50 Degrees From a Front-Mount Ram

A tipper that cannot clear its load in one lift wastes the cycle it was bought to save. This body tips to approximately 50 degrees, past the angle of repose for damp sand, sticky clay overburden, and crushed rock with fines, so the load slides instead of hanging up on the floor. The HYVA front-mount telescopic cylinder does the work: multi-stage, seated ahead of the body, pushing through a geometry that keeps the lift force aligned with the chassis rather than out over the side. Front-mounting also leaves the whole underfloor free of hoist hardware, which is why the underside of this trailer is just the bolted kingpin plate, the longitudinal members, and the landing gear.

With a healthy tractor PTO and hydraulic flow, a full raise-hold-lower cycle runs well under a minute. What the ram pushes against matters as much as the ram itself: tip loads travel down through the subframe into the kingpin and the three-axle group, and the 500mm Q345B I-section main beam is sized for that load path, not just for static payload.

12.00R20 Mining Tires on a Three-Axle Stack

The running gear is where the mining spec is easiest to verify. The tires are 12.00R20 with a deep-block mining tread, mounted on 8.5-20 ten-stud steel disc wheels. Twelve tires are fitted, and two spares ride on the trailer — one carrier sits under the chassis mid-frame, reachable without unloading the body. Deep-block tread is a deliberate choice for pit work: it bites on loose bench surfaces and sheds stones that would drill into a highway rib pattern.

Behind the wheels: three FUWA 13-ton axles (16-ton optional, BPW available on request), T30/30 spring brake chambers, and a dual-line air system with WABCO ABS. The suspension is a heavy mechanical multi-leaf stack, 90mm wide, 16mm thick, 10 layers per side. For the reasoning on why a 100 ton unit rides on leaf springs instead of air suspension, the 100 ton heavy duty rear dump page lays out that argument in full.

Who Buys the Mining-Spec Rear Tipper

  • Open-pit mine and quarry operators moving ore, blasted rock, or overburden between bench and crusher, where the 40/25 km/h site-speed rating applies and abrasion kills mild-steel bodies
  • Aggregate and river-sand contractors in East and West Africa running pit-to-plant cycles of 40-45 cbm per trip on mixed laterite and paved roads
  • Infrastructure subcontractors in the Gulf and Central Asia hauling rock fill and gravel for highway, dam, and port projects with unpaved site access
  • Fleet owners replacing highway-spec tippers that wore out early on dense, sharp-edged loads

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 45 cbm enough for dense ore, or should I order a smaller body?

It depends on what you load, so run the density math. Loose iron ore sits around 2.4-2.6 tons per cubic meter, which means even 25 cbm of ore already exceeds the 100 ton site rating — with dense ore you simply load well below the coaming rail. The 45 cbm body is sized for limestone, aggregate, sand, and coal in the 1.4-1.8 t/m³ band, where a heaped load lands at 63-81 tons. If your main cargo is dense ore, tell us the material density and we will spec a reduced-volume body.

What tipping angle does the body reach, and how fast is the dump cycle?

Approximately 50 degrees, which is past the repose angle of damp sand and sticky overburden, so loads clear in one lift without shaking the body. Cycle time depends on your tractor's PTO and hydraulic flow rather than on the trailer; with a healthy truck-side supply, a full raise-hold-lower cycle stays under a minute. The multi-stage HYVA front cylinder keeps the lift stable through the whole arc.

Should I choose an end tipper or a side tipper?

Choose the end tipper (this trailer) when your dump points are reasonably flat and firm and you want the fastest, simplest unloading cycle with the fewest moving parts. Choose a side tipper when you regularly tip on uneven ground or need to lay a windrow along the dump edge, because side tipping keeps the body's center of gravity low during discharge. We compared both layouts in detail in side tipper vs end tipper — including the stability math that decides it.

How is this mining tipper different from the 100 ton heavy duty rear dump?

They are the same 3-axle heavy platform: same 100 ton site rating, same running gear, same body dimensions band. This page documents the mining-spec unit: yellow and green mine livery, ROCKY 450 wear-plate body, 12.00R20 mining tires, and the site-safety kit. The 100 ton heavy duty rear dump semi trailer page goes deeper into what the 100 ton rating means for road-legal payload. If your work is mostly on public roads, start there. If it is mostly on site, this is the page to quote from.

What warranty comes with this mining tipper?

10-year warranty on the main beam, with a 1-year warranty on the body structure and welded joints. Component warranties follow the original manufacturer's terms (HYVA, FUWA, WABCO, JOST, Triangle, CHENGSHAN, Baosteel).

What are the payment terms?

30% deposit by T/T confirms your order; the 70% balance is paid before shipment. When your trailer is finished we send photos and videos of the actual unit, so you see what you bought before paying the balance. For larger orders we accept an irrevocable L/C at sight.

We run this tipper semi trailer between the quarry and our batching yard in Kenya, carrying ballast and river sand every day. The body takes the shovel loading without any dent and the tipping is fast and stable even on our uneven ground. Very solid trailer for this work.
